The contemporary Finest Playa Mujeres in Cancun, Mexico, a property by the Excellence Collection, changed my view on leisure travel. The white architecture with black metal framework reminded me of my stay at the Bvlgari Hotel in Milan when I went to the Salone del Mobile back in 2015. The Bvlgari’s hotel garden, designed by Sophie Agata Ambroise, of trees and hedges to create a series of courtyards was replaced with the Caribbean spirit of tropical gardens and the white sand beach with turquoise water at the Finest. The resort’s bespoke approach to service, high end amenities and gourmet cuisine exceeded my expectations. I’m sold on a trip back here when I’m in need of a reset.
